Help Set A New Guinness World Record™!
Are you ready to make a difference? On April 21st, 2012, the Real Diaper Association has organized a GLOBAL event, The Great Cloth Diaper Change, to raise awareness about the benefits of using modern cloth diapers. This event is an official Guinness World Record™ setting attempt. There are currently 305 locations in over 16 countries scheduled to participate at the exact same time and break the 2011 record!
Bitty Bottoms LLC is thrilled to be an official host of The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2012! The challenge is to break the record set in 2011 by changing over 5,000 babies into cloth diapers at the exact same time around the world. Whether you already use cloth diapers, are thinking about it, or just want to try one for the day, you could help set an official Guinness World Record™ during this global event right here in Northwest Georgia!

How Do I Participate? It's So Easy!
1. Register here to save a spot for your baby. Print your ticket from your email.
You are required to register before the day of the event. This event is FREE. registering allows us to know in advance how many participants we will need to accommodate. You only need one ticket for each adult that will be changing a child as part of the event. All other family members and friends are welcome to come watch and enjoy the event, but should register as a Guest.
2. Let me know if you're interested in official Great Cloth Diaper Change gear located at Cafe Press. You can either purchase it yourself OR contact me and I can place one large order for everyone.
3. Please try to arrive by 11:30 AM on April 21, 2012.
We need time to check everyone in before the event begins. Participants who arrive late may not have enough time to qualify for the official Diaper Change. We hope for a large turn out!
The following regulations are set by the Guinness World Records™:
4. Change your baby when we say "GO!"
- Each baby must be changed out of a cloth or disposable diaper into a reusable cloth diaper at exactly 12 Noon EST.
- The cloth diaper must be a brand that can be purchased by the general public in a retail store or online.
- Unfortunately, homemade diapers that are not commercially available and cloth trainers cannot be used. This is a very strict rule from Guinness World Records™.
- All participating babies and toddlers must be 39 inches or shorter.
- Each child must be paired with exactly one adult participant (18 yrs or older).

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
The doors will open at 11:30am, The Change starts promptly at 12pm EST. Guinness™ rules mandate that all participants (across the globe!) must be changing their baby’s diaper at precisely the same time, so it is crucial that you arrive in plenty of time to get checked in and be ‘in place’ for the actual diaper change. Plus, you want to be sure you arrive early so you’ll have time to enter to win our raffle prizes donated by Bitty Bottoms!
WHAT TYPE OF DIAPER CAN BE USED?
Any 100% reusable cloth diaper can be used, so long as it can be purchased online or at a physical retail store. This includes Work At Home Mom cloth diapers, as long as they can be purchased online or in a physical retail store. The Guinness™ requirements do not allow for diapers that are homemade if they are not sold online or at a physical store. When you arrive for the event your baby can be in a disposable or a cloth diaper. Your baby must, however, be changed into a 100% reusable cloth diaper that is commercially available. Please note, "100% reusable" means that if you are using a hybrid style diaper you must use it with a washable insert, not a disposable insert.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?
- A changing pad, plus any other accessories you'll need to perform a diaper change (wipes, wet bag, etc)
- Dollar bills for a $1 Donation (or more!) to benefit the Real Diaper Association (RDA)
- Extra money to purchase raffle tickets - they are only $1 and you will be able to enter for exactly what YOU want to win!
WHAT OTHER GUIDELINES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED BY GUINNESS™ FOR THE PARTICIPANTS?
All babies and toddlers must be 39” or shorter, and each baby must be paired with exactly one adult participant, 18 years of age or older.
ARE WE SETTING A RECORD OR BREAKING ONE?
This year we are breaking one! Last year we set the record at 5,026 babies changed into a cloth diaper at the same time. Participants came from 127 separate locations with in 5 countries throughout the world!
DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER?
Due to space and time constraints pre-registration is recommended. You can save yourself time by pre-registering because you will simply have to ‘check in’ upon arrival, rather than having to fill out the registration form. If space is available on the day of the event, onsite registration will be accepted but cannot be guaranteed! Also, you’ll want to pre-register to reserve your goodie bag… see the next question!
ARE THE GOODIE BAGS RESERVED FOR THE FIRST 25 PARTICIPANTS TO ARRIVE OR THE FIRST 25 PRE-REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS?
The goodie bags are reserved for those that are pre-registered...if we have less than 25 pre-registered participants we will still give out the bags to "walk-ins" BUT the list is filling up quickly!
CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE IF I DON’T HAVE A CLOTH DIAPER TO USE?
Absolutely! Simply indicate that on your pre-registration form or email carrie@bittybottoms.com and we’ll have a washed but new diaper available for you to borrow for the duration of the event.
WHO ARE THE DONATIONS GOING TO?
The proceeds from this event will go to the Real Diaper Association (RDA), the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading the word about reusable cloth diapers. We are asking all participants to donate $1 (or more) when you attend the event. We will also be selling raffle tickets for some really great prizes donated by Bitty Bottoms – tickets are just $1 and you will be able to submit tickets into the drawing boxes for the specific item(s) that you hope to win!
